The Verkhovna Rada decided to adopted the Aaddress of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will include the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 3rd session of the Conference of the Parties meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement, the UN General Assembly, the European Union, the Council of Europe, Parliamentary Assemblies, the European Parliament, the Interparliamentary Union, other regional and international organizations, governments and parliaments of foreign countries, in support of global climate change goals (No. 6263).
The Resolution emphasizes the irreversible gradual transition of Ukraine to low-carbon development in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the goals of the Paris Agreement, namely to restrain the growth of average global temperature well below 2 °C and make efforts to limit it to 1.5 °C.
