The exhibition "Yes - to the right to vote for women" dedicated to the 50th anniversary of women's suffrage in Switzerland was presented in the Parliament.
During the presentation, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Ukraine Claude Wild drew the attention of the audience to the fact that this year Switzerland celebrated the 50th anniversary of women's suffrage. At the end of the 19th century, Swiss women in various movements and unions fought for their legal, social and economic equality.
After the First World War, this topic appeared on the official political agenda. The exhibition includes posters of referendums on the suffrage of Swiss women of different years.

According to Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk, Ukrainian democracy equals the experience of Switzerland and there are more women in the Parliament every year. She expressed hope that every year the parliamentary corps of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will become predominantly female.
