Adopted the Resolution “On the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the illegitimacy of the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in 2021” (No. 6078).
The Resolution approved the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which draws the attention of the international community to the fact of holding illegitimate elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation on September 17-19, 2021 in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
The Statement emphasizes the violations by the Russian Federation of international humanitarian law, including the involvement of Ukrainian citizens with illegally issued passports of the Russian Federation, the movement of the population to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the uncontrolled process of crossing the internationally recognized state border.
In the Statement, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declares that such elections illegal and the State Duma of the Russian Federation is illegitimate and calls on the international community to assess the fraudulent elections and the facts of illegal voting.
