The Parliament of Ukraine must react to illegal elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stated this during the Conciliation Council of Deputy Factions and Groups.
“Elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation have taken place. I would ask that one of the issues to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine this week be the reaction of the Parliament of Ukraine to what happened. We are talking about the elections in the occupied Ukrainian Crimea, the involvement of Ukrainian citizens in these elections, who were illegally taken to the polling stations to vote,” Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
Also, the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament considers it necessary to make changes in the legislation that allow to hold sittings of the Parliament online.
In addition, Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of adopting the Anti-Corruption Strategy and the draft State Budget for 2022.
At the end of his speech, Ruslan Stefanchuk addressed too all three subjects of the legislative initiative with a request to start preparing the Plan of Legislative Work for 2022. He noted that the draft State Budget for 2022, the medium-term budget declaration and other program and strategic documents of Ukraine will be taken into account during the preparation of the relevant Plan.
