The report covers issues related to the state of atmospheric air, water resources, land resources and soils, subsoil.
With regard to water resources, the amount of water collected and used by industry and the population is declining, but the amount of pollutants in the discharged water remains constant. At the same time, the situation with monitoring the state of water resources has improved – the state water-monitoring program has been approved for the first time and is being implemented.
The report pays special attention to climate change, conservation of biological and landscape diversity, development of nature reserves and the formation of a national ecological network, waste management and environmental safety.
The document analyzes the environmental impact of industry, agriculture, energy and transport.
The Committee took note of the information on the National Report on the State of the Environment in Ukraine in 2020. Relevant recommendations will be provided after its completion.
