Adopted the Law of Ukraine No. 3969 “On Amendments to the Water Code of Ukraine to Adjust the List of Primary Water Users”.
The Law of Ukraine proposes:
- to legally regulate the issue of mandatory conclusion of an economic
agreement by primary water users with water industry enterprises, the need to
legislate the organization of paid services related to the supply of water to
legal entities and individuals from reclamation systems and water sources for
irrigation or irrigation of drained lands, industrial and communal needs, as
well as watering gardens, orchards and rainfed lands and filling bulk
reservoirs.
- preservation and restoration of state property at strategic facilities of
Ukraine through the provision of paid services.
The law proposed that the list of primary water users should include persons
having their own water collecting facilities/equipment and receiving water from
canals, reservoirs / water economy systems, water pipes of interbasin and
intrabasin redistribution of water resources and also proposed that such
persons be obliged to conclude water supply contracts with asset-holding
enterprises or with enterprises providing for transfer of water to regions with
little water.
