First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk spoke on the program "The Great Deoligarchization" about three areas in which anti-oligarchic reform will be carried out in Ukraine.
"First of all, this is a sphere of politics. Secondly, this is the sphere of mass media. The third area is the monopoly influence on the economy. It is in these three areas that a certain restrictive influence will be introduced," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
According to him, the political direction in the implementation of the reform involves the development of bills related to political lobbying. Mass media restrictions provide for the deprivation of monopoly influence over the media.
"The media must remain a mouthpiece and must cease to be a propaganda machine.  At the same time, the third direction, monopolistic influence on the economy, includes a large list of issues related to antitrust law," said the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
According to him, the draft Law No.5599 "On the prevention of threats to national security associated with the excessive influence of persons who have significant economic or political weight in public life (oligarchs)" creates only general legal prerequisites. In particular, it determines who the oligarch is, obliges the oligarch and his entourage to declare themselves publicly.
"This is the first, but not the last step," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
