Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk congratulated the interns on the successful completion of the Youth Internship Program in the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2021.
"We are living in a time of great changes and I am very glad that you have come this way right now. Indeed, you had a good opportunity to see all the internal processes in the Parliament in the year of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Constitution and the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. This issue of interns must be legendary. And I believe that this is a good start to the next changes and changes in the country that these young people will bring with them," Olena Kondratiuk said during the closing ceremony of the Program in 2021.
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the internship of young people in the Parliament opens up many new opportunities that should be used in the future. Olena Kondratiuk also recalled that during the recent meeting with her, the interns said that this internship gave them an understanding that there are many myths surrounding the Ukrainian Parliament.
"I really liked it. I ask you to become good promoters of parliamentarism outside the Verkhovna Rada. To be the destroyers of these myths between colleagues, peers, many of those with whom they will have to work further. So that not only interns, but also everyone else understands that the Parliament is the driving force of Ukraine.  That parliamentarism is one of the most important things we have. That the Parliament is a people's representation and it is, first of all, democracy," Olena Kondratiuk emphasized.
The Vice Speaker also noted that this year's interns were part of a large project "Open Rada", aimed in particular at involving young people in activities in the Parliament.
"On my initiative, the interns had the opportunity to take part in a solemn sitting of Parliament on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. And I would like and invite one of this year's graduates to speak on behalf of the youth at the solemn sitting of the Verkhovna Rada on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence," Olena Kondratiuk said.
She thanked the NGO "League of Interns", international partners from Germany and the United States, deputies of the first convocation, who together with the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada did everything to make this internship unforgettable for interns.
"I wish all the graduates of the Internship Program success, new achievements, faith in their own strength and victories!" wished the Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
