First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk joined the signing of the Joint Statement of the MPs on the call to the United States and the European Union on the inadmissibility of launching the 'Nord Stream-2'.
"I have repeatedly stressed the importance of counteracting the implementation of the 'Nord Stream-2' gas transportation project during numerous meetings with parliamentarians from Germany, Poland and Lithuania. After all, this is a key issue of deterring further aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and other countries," Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
According to him, Ukraine hopes for the support of its allies and partners.
"It is extremely important to unite efforts to counter Russia's intentions to destabilize the situation on the European continent in general and in Ukraine in particular. Every effort should be made to prevent the implementation of the 'Nord Stream-2' project, which poses a threat to both Ukraine and the whole of Europe. Sanctions must be extended, and further launch is impossible," said the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
