Adopted as a basis the draft Law No. 4156 on Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Liability for Violation of Radiation Safety Requirements in Areas Affected by Radioactive Contamination.
The purpose of the draft law is to ensure compliance with the requirements of the radiation safety regime and strengthen the responsibility for its violation.
The draft law proposes amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provide for:
- strengthen the responsibility for violating the requirements of the radiation safety regime;
- to recognize as a criminal offense such actions as penetration into the exclusion zone and the zone of unconditional (compulsory) resettlement without granting the statutory permit or unauthorized settlement in them, or destruction, damage or transfer of signs of radiation pollution or fencing of these zones.
