Happy Constitution Day to you, Ukrainian people!
The Constitution is more than a document containing 15 chapters, 161 articles, 15,022 words and 101,059 letters. The Constitution of Ukraine is a social contract for more than 65 million Ukrainians around the world.
The Constitution is a protection and care for every Ukrainian. It always guards the interests of the individual and society, ensures our freedom in various spheres of life.
The Constitution is a guarantee of human rights and freedoms. My favorite Article 21 of the Constitution of Ukraine states: “All people are free and equal in their dignity and rights. Rights and freedoms are inalienable and inviolable". Freedom, equality and dignity are the key to Ukraine's prosperity!
The constitution is a duty and a responsibility. The people who gave the world the first written Constitution must realize that it is the only source of power in Ukraine, learn to live by the Basic Law and force the government to do the same.
The Constitution is unity. It is a social compromise, the result of a consensus of different political forces. The process of preparation of the Basic Law lasted 6 years, and its adoption - 23 hours. Its fixed the unity vision of the direction of Ukraine's movement - the irreversibility of the European and Euro-Atlantic course of Ukraine.
The Constitution is one for all. It is not mine, not yours, not his... It is ours. And this is its great value. Let the significance and role of the Constitution of Ukraine, the observance of which is a strong foundation of democracy in Ukraine, be affirmed today and in the future.
