The Committee on Economic Development recommends to adopt as a basis the draft law on improving the activities of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine

At its meeting, the Committee considered the draft Law No. 5431 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Improve the Activities of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine" and the alternative draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Activities of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine" (No. 5431-1).

The draft law proposes: to improve the conceptual and categorical apparatus of legislation on the protection of economic competition; to improve the mechanisms of control over the concentrations of economic entities; legislate mechanisms for setting priorities for the Committee's activities; to determine at the legislative level the procedure for conducting inspections of business entities; to improve the mechanisms of exemption from liability for participants in anti-competitive concerted actions; to introduce institutes of settlement in cases; to improve the procedure for compensation for damage caused by violations of legislation on protection of economic competition; to introduce joint and several liability of defendants when paying fines.

The members of the Committee decided to recommend to include the draft laws in the agenda of the session of the Verkhovna Rada and based on the results of the consideration in the first reading of the draft law No. 5431 to adopt it as a basis, and the draft law No. 5431-1 to reject.
