The Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services recommends to adopt in general the draft law on certain issues of connection to the gas transmission or distribution system

The Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services considered the Draft Law No. 4578-1 on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts Concerning Certain Issues of Connection to the Gas Transmission or Gas Distribution System. The purpose of the draft law is to simplify the mechanism of connecting the customer's facilities to the gas transmission or gas distribution system. Adoption of the Law will increase the efficiency of gas infrastructure use; simplify the procedure for connection to gas networks owned by natural monopolies. People's Deputy Andriy Zhupanyn reported on the bill. He said that before the second reading, the amendment was worked out with representatives of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, the Ministry of Energy, Naftogaz, and the relevant association. According to him, the most compromise options for taking into account the amendments have been worked out, and as a result, the bill was supported by all market participants. Based on the results of the consideration of the draft law, the Committee recommends to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt in the second reading and in general the draft law on certain issues of connection to the gas transmission or gas distribution system.
