"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by the end of session will consider in the first reading draft laws on oligarchs," Dmytro Razumkov

By the end of the current session, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider in the first reading the draft Law on the prevention of threats to national security related to the excessive influence of persons of significant economic or political weight in public life (oligarchs) (No. 5599) and alternative bills (No. 5599-1, 5599-2, 5599-3).

According to Dmytro Razumkov, such a draft law will help normalize public relations between officials and representatives of big business.

He noted that he supports the idea of ??declaring officials their meetings with representatives of big business. At the same time, the Speaker of the Parliament is convinced that a special state body, not the National Security and Defense Council, should form the register of oligarchs.

"The law is written for 10 years. Today we have one President and we understand how he will act. But after his term, it is necessary to have fuses that will not allow the use of this mechanism not in favor of the state," said Dmytro Razumkov.

At the same time, he stressed the need to create legislation on lobbying in Ukraine. "It seems to me that there should be the law on lobbying. Not in the negative sense that exists now in society, but in the version that we can see in the United States, in Europe, where lobbyists defend the interests of business without breaking the law, they declare their wealth, their contacts. This will help bring to the public the negative that is still present in Ukrainian politics," the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada explained.

He also added that the preparation of the relevant legislative initiative is a matter of the near future. "We will develop the bill. And soon it will appear in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Dmytro Razumkov said.
