The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Status of National and Effective Management of Educational Institutions and State Property" (No. 4486).
"The law allows free transfer of property of a state or municipal institution of higher education, which is not used for "educational" activities, to another state or municipal institution of higher, professional higher, professional (vocational) education, scientific institution or scientific organization of state ownership for its further use for carrying out activities provided by special laws," said one of the initiators of the bill, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
He also noted that, "there is a ban on the privatization or use of activities and property of state and municipal educational institutions not provided for by special laws."
"The law also provides for the possibility of contributing to joint activities within the public-private partnership property of educational institutions, which is not used for activities provided by special laws," said the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
