The Verkhovna Rada held the meeting of the Parliamentary group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the Hellenic Republic.
MPs discussed the results of monitoring visits to places of compact residence of national minorities, the need to protect the rights of citizens in places of detention in the Hellenic Republic, the issue of intensifying tourism between Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic and the possibility of liberalizing border crossing rules for citizens of both countries.
Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations Dmytro Lubinets informed about the results of meetings with representatives of national minorities in places of compact residence, which took place on May 24-31.
Following the discussion, MPs took note of the results of monitoring visits, approved an appeal to the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic to take additional measures to intensify tourism between Ukraine and the Hellenic Republic, as well as to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights on the need to protect the rights of citizens of Ukraine who are in places of detention in the Hellenic Republic.
