The Vice Speaker informed the factions and groups present at the Conciliation Council that the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada had received the collective appeal from leading organizations of persons with disabilities.
"They were also affected by the crisis and they found themselves in a very difficult financial situation. These organizations lack the resources to provide quality services to about 1 million people with disabilities. According to UN recommendations, such problems can be addressed by providing such organizations with institutional support on a competitive basis. And we have relevant legislative initiatives," Olena Kondratiuk said.
According to the Deputy Chairperson, the public is concerned that for 4 months the draft law No. 4607 is not considered by the Budget Committee and is not submitted to to Parliament for consideration. Thus the conclusion of scientific and expert management is ready.
"Taking this opportunity, I would like to appeal to the leadership of the Budget Committee - to respond to the situation and speed up consideration of this socially important issue. I would also like to note that most of the authors of the draft law are representatives of the 'Servant of the People' Faction. The Parliament must respond to the problems that really concern people. Then we should not be surprised that the society has the impression of the Verkhovna Rada's isolation from the people," Olena Kondratiuk stressed.
