Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Olena Kondratiuk Congratulated the Graduates of the I. Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum.

"This is the first year that girls are graduating from the lyceum - 18 girls who will go, I hope, to serve in our army," said the Speaker of the Parliament during the speech at the ceremony.

He noted that in recent years the Ukrainian army has changed significantly and changed society. "You are an example for your peers. Your heroism, achievements and victories are the key ones for our state," Dmytro Razumkov stressed.

The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada wished the graduates new achievements, inspiration and victories. "Military life has never been easy. I'm sure your commanders told you about it. But I am convinced that you will succeed in carrying the rank of Ukrainian officer throughout your life. What do I wish you," he said.

In her turn, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized, "Today we are not only celebrating graduation - today we are celebrating the holiday of equality in military education. After all, a few years ago it was difficult to even imagine that rightfully, on equal terms with brave lyceum students, there will be girls-lyceum present today."

According to Olena Kondratiuk, the Parliament recently adopted the law that provides equal rights and opportunities for women and men during their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Only in this way, respecting each other, respecting each other, giving equal starting opportunities, we will build a society of truly free, happy and wealthy people. The country that can defend itself. And I know that it is you, the graduates, who will bring Ukraine to NATO," she said.

During the celebrations, Dmytro Razumkov and Olena Kondratiuk presented the lyceum students with awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
