The Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy recommends adopting the draft law on the protection of the rights and best interests of the child

At the meeting of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, MPs considered the draft law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Public Morality" to protect the rights and best interests of the child (No. 5330-1). The purpose of the bill is to protect children from the negative effects of sexual or erotic products.

The draft law prohibits the use of images of all children (not just minors) in any form in sexual or erotic products and in entertainment activities of this nature.

The representative of the Verkhovna Rada's Commissioner for the Observance of Children's Rights stressed that the draft law No. 5330-1 is comprehensive and is a response to the challenges facing Ukrainian children today.

Based on the results of the consideration, the Committee recommends to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt as a basis the draft law on Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Public Morality”.
