The Verkhovna Rada hosted the ceremony of completion of the Internship Program at the Information and Research Center 2020-2021

On May 25, the ceremony of completion of the Internship Program at the Information and Research Center took place, which was attended by seventeen students, graduate students, graduates of leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine. It lasted for six months - from November 2020 to May 2021.

At the beginning of the event, the Acting Head of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada congratulated the youth on the successful completion of the Internship Program. He noted that among the participants of the Internship Program are not only representatives of leading Kyiv universities, but also representatives of educational institutions of Kharkiv, Ternopil, Lviv, Lutsk and other regions.

MPs Olena Moshenets and Antonina Slavytska spoke about their own experience of cooperation with the Information and Research Center, and stressed the importance of quality analytical information for the work of the Parliamentarians.

President of the Eastern Europe Foundation Viktor Lyakh added that 50% of the developed materials were used by MPs in the legislative work in 2020.

Head of the Information Department of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the partners for their constant cooperation and for promoting the activities of the Information and Research Center. According to him, the work of young analysts will strengthen the legislative potential of the Parliament, because such a center can be a source of complete, unbiased and reliable information for lawmakers.

Together with the experts of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, the RADA Program has developed a Strategy for the Establishment of the Parliamentary Research Service as a structural unit of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada, which is scheduled to be discussed at strategic sessions.

The participants of the internship were awarded diplomas. At the end of the event, they shared their impressions and stressed the importance of the experience gained for further research.
