The Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine headed by the Chairperson of the Delegation Yegor Chernev takes an active part in the work of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
President of the NATO PA Gerald Edward Connolly and representatives of delegations are scheduled to address the official opening ceremony of the session. The meeting of the NATO PA Political Committee will take place on the same day, during which a number of draft reports on political and security challenges will be considered. Among other things, a draft report by Brendan Boyle "Confronting Russia's Continuing Geopolitical and Ideological Challenge" will be presented. The document, in particular, refers to Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine, violation of international law by Russia due to illegal attempts to occupy Crimea and numerous human rights violations on its territory.
Meetings of NATO PA Committees are also planned: on the civilian security dimension, on economics and security, on security and safety, on science and technology, the agenda of which includes consideration of draft reports and discussions on specific topics.
On May 17, a plenary session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be held with speeches by NATO PA President Gerald Edward Connolly and NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana.
