During the sitting of the Advisory Council on Local Self-Government, First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of formulating decisions aimed at strengthening the financial capacity of territorial communities, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these decisions.
The First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine drew attention to the fact that the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities operates under the President of Ukraine. Its work focuses on the preparation of the Municipal Code of Ukraine.
“70% of the problems we are discussing at the meeting of the Advisory Council on Local Self-Government could form the basis of the Municipal Code of Ukraine. This is also a question of regional development, strengthening their financial capacity and others, "the politician stressed.
Ruslan Stefanchuk called on the participants of the meeting to maximize the consolidation of efforts to complete the decentralization reform, and also suggested joining the drafting of the bill on the local referendum.
