The Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional and Urban Development considered the draft law on improve the procedure of early termination of powers of the village, town, city mayor (No. 5241).
The draft law proposes to make certain amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine” and to the Electoral Code in order to improve the procedure of early termination of powers of the village, settlement or city mayor, which, according to the subjects of the legislative initiative, should simplify the process of calling early elections of Chairpersons in case of early termination of their powers.
Following the general discussion, the Committee decided to recommend adopting as a basis and in general the draft law on improve the procedure of early termination of powers of the village, town, city mayor (No. 5241).
At the same time, the Committee considered the alternative draft law on amendments to certain legislative acts to improve the procedure of early termination of powers of the village, town, city mayor and the appointment of early local elections (No. 5241-1). Following the discussion of the bill, the Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to reject it in the first reading.
