Adopted the Law of Ukraine No. 4535 “On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine to Develop the Institution of Starostas”.
The Law of Ukraine No. 4535 strengthens the institution of starostas for towns that are not administrative centers of communities. According to the Law, the starostas will prepare budget proposals and report to the community. Also, the Law of Ukraine empowers local self-government bodies to approve starostas districts and the Regulations on Starostas; establishes that from the day a newly created territorial community is vested with local self-government powers the powers of the persons who performed the duties of starosta in a starosta district are terminated.
