The Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations held the discussion on the topic: "Introduction of the principles of transitional justice as a prerequisite for deoccupation of territories and reintegration of the population".
During the meeting was presented the concept of lustration in the occupied territories, considered the possible consequences of the introduction of responsibility for "collaborative activities" and alternative punishments for those who cooperated with the occupation administration, on the effectiveness of reintegration policy. The participants of the event discussed the problematic issues of human rights in the conflict resolution period and in the post-conflict period. The participants stressed the need to create a state system for monitoring and documenting violations of human rights, international humanitarian law and international human rights law during the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
Summing up the discussion, MP Nelly Yakovleva stressed the importance of coordinating the efforts of all branches of government and the public to find professional solutions to resolve the issues that was discussed at the legislative level.
