The Committee on Public Health, Medical Assistance and Medical Insurance considered the draft Law "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine to Improve the Protection of Professional Activities of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers" (No. 5124).
The draft law provides for amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Law "Fundamentals of the Legislation of Ukraine on Health Care". In particular, it is proposed to supplement the CCU with a new Article 3501, establishing criminal liability for threat or violence against medical or pharmaceutical workers.
The Committee on Public Health, Medical Assistance and Medical Insurance supported the draft Law "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine to Improve the Protection of Professional Activities of Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers" and recommended to adopt if as a basis.
The MPs also heard the Acting Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine Andriy Vilenskyi to expand the list of medicals subject to reimbursement under the medical guarantee program, in terms of the introduction in 2021 of new mechanisms for financing the insulin reimbursement program.
The Committee recommended that the Ministry of Health establish the working group to process reservations and suggestions from members of the public regarding the possible risks of implementing the new insulin reimbursement system proposed by the NHSU, involving experts in this field, endocrinologists, representatives of public and patient organizations, in order to prevent the deterioration of access of people with diabetes to vital medicines.
The MPs also considered the appeal of the People's Deputy Oksana Dmitrieva regarding the need to allocate additional funds in 2021 to the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt".
The Committee supported the proposal of the MP to send the appeal to the Ministry of Finance on the need to allocate additional target funds to the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" in 2021 for a total of 152 million hryvnias.
