At its meeting, the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy reconsidered its decision on the draft Resolution on the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight (April 12, 1961) No. 5210.
At the sitting, the MPs supported the following changes:
- a new version of the title of the Resolution, namely "On the special contribution of Ukraine to the development of outer space."
- paragraph 5 worded as follows: "Recommend to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to organize events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight, within the framework of cooperation with Ukraine's partner countries in the field of space activities."
Adoption of the Resolution will help preserve the historical memory of Ukraine's contribution to world cosmonautics, support the popularization of scientific knowledge about space and space technology, strengthen the role of the Korolyov National Museum of Cosmonautics in preserving and using monuments of material and spiritual culture.
The draft Resolution contains recommendations for the Cabinet of Ministers on the solemn celebration of the anniversary date at the state level, the inclusion of repair and restoration works at the facilities of the municipal institution "National Museum of Cosmonautics named after Korolyov" of the Zhytomyr Regional Council in the program "Large Construction". The draft Resolution also contains recommendations for the three ministries and the State Space Agency of Ukraine.
