The MPs considered the issue of the ecological situation in Pavlohrad, the Dnipropetrovsk region. MP Roman Kaptelov raised the environmental issue of pollution of the Samara River by sewage treatment plants. During its activities, the 'Pavlohradvodokanal' utility company violates the requirements of environmental legislation, as a result of which the Samara River is polluted and fish die. In particular, violations of the rules of operation of treatment facilities, their unsatisfactory technical condition were recorded.
The members of the Committee heard representatives of relevant agencies and local authorities on the situation and ways to resolve it. Chairperson of the Committee Oleh Bondarenko instructed Chairperson of the profile Sub-committee Eduard Proshchuk to take control of the appeal regarding the situation in the city of Pavlohrad.
Also, based on the results of the review, the Committee took note of the information on the settlement of issues concerning cooperation between the State Agency for Water Resources and the Public Council, as well as regarding the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve.
In addition, the Committee decided to take note of the Ministry's proposal to develop the draft law On amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Environmental Impact Assessment" and General Guidelines on the content and procedure for compiling an environmental impact assessment report.
