The Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy recommends adopting the draft law on improving state regulation in the field of pesticides and agrochemicals

The participants of the meeting considered the draft Law No. 4558 On amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine on improving state regulation in the field of pesticides and agrochemicals

The Explanatory Note states that the adoption of the draft Law allow to:

- bring Ukrainian legislation in the field of pesticides and agrochemicals closer to the requirements of EU legislation and WTO requirements;

- increase the efficiency and transparency of the procedure of state testing of pesticides and agrochemicals;

- eliminate duplication of powers of different authorities in the field of activities related to pesticides and agrochemicals;

- promote the capacity of government agencies in the fight against counterfeit pesticides and agrochemicals;

- ensure the creation of more modern and more adequate regulation of relations in the field of pesticides and agrochemicals.

Following the discussion, the members of the Committee decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt the draft law No. 4558 as a basis.
