The Law of Ukraine No. 3630 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons’ Concerning the Submission of Biometric Data for Visas by Foreigners and Stateless Persons” provides for amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons” in terms of creating a legal basis for collecting biometric information of foreigners and stateless persons in the procedure of visas for entry into Ukraine and transit through its territory.
The law eliminates the gap in the regulation of migration processes in Ukraine and allows:
- simplify the procedure for identification of foreigners and stateless persons during / after their entry into the territory of Ukraine;
- to improve the control of migration flows of foreigners and stateless persons by state bodies;
- to improve the coordination of the authorized bodies of Ukraine in the implementation of the state migration policy;
- intensify the fight against the use of forged documents.
