First Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk told about the preparation of the draft law “On state symbols of Ukraine, the order of their use and protection.” The First Deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine said that the first section ‘General Provisions’ defines the types of state symbols of Ukraine, contains provisions on respect for state symbols and their public respect, as well as on national models of state symbols.
The second section ‘State Flag of Ukraine’ contains a description of the State Flag of Ukraine; features and requirements for its installation or lifting, features of use; as well as provisions for the celebration of the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine. According to the politician, the third section ‘State Emblem of Ukraine’ will require comprehensive work after determining the basic principles of use / placement of large and small State Emblem of Ukraine.
The fourth section ‘National Anthem of Ukraine’ contains a description of the National Anthem of Ukraine, provisions for its reference music version, the order and features of performance, as well as for use and broadcast.
The fifth section ‘Legal protection of state symbols of Ukraine’ contains provisions on the legal protection of state symbols and liability for violations of this law. The last section "Final and Transitional Provisions" needs to be worked out after determining the content of the main part of the draft law.
By Monday, February 22, members of the Working Group under the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the preparation of the law on state symbols of Ukraine, the procedure for their use and protection must send specific comments and suggestions to the text of the bill.
