The Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommends the adoption in the second reading and in general the bill on improvement of certain issues of military service and military accounting

The meeting of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence was held. The members of the Committee considered the draft Law No. 3553 on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Prepared for the Second Reading to Improve Certain Issues of Conscription and Military Accounting

The draft law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on September 15, 2020. The bill is aimed at creating on the basis of military commissariats territorial centers of recruitment and social support, streamlining the military registration of conscripts, conscripts and reservists, ensuring the proper functioning of the Unified State Register of conscripts and reservists, the introduction of a new type of military service, strengthening administrative and criminal liability for violations of defense legislation, military duty and military service, mobilization training and mobilization.

Based on the results of the consideration, the MPs decided to take into account the remarks of the Main Legal Department of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and recommend to adopt the draft Law in the second reading and in general in the wording proposed by the Committee.
