Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights recommends the adoption the bill on the provision of partial unemployment benefits for the period of quarantine in the second reading and in general

Members of the Committee considered the draft Law on Amendments to Article 47-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Employment” on partial unemployment assistance for the quarantine period established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to prevent the spread of particularly dangerous infectious diseases No. 3010а.

The bill provides for partial unemployment benefits for the quarantine period not only during the quarantine period, which was introduced through COVID-19, but also in the case of similar restrictions due to other diseases in the future and give the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the right to determine the procedure for providing partial unemployment benefits for the period of quarantine, its size, terms of provision, as well as the procedure for refunding funds aimed at financing such assistance.

Chairperson of the Sub-committee on Regulation of Labor Relations and Employment Mykola Babenko, who headed the working group to prepare the bill for the second reading, said that during the processing received a large number of amendments, most of which the working group proposes to take into account in the comparative table.

Based on the results of the consideration of the draft law, the members of the Committee decided to approve the comparative table of the bill and recommend to adopt the bill in the second reading and in general.
