The members of the Committee unanimously supported the draft Law No. 0080 on Ukraine's Accession to the Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
The agreement promotes European identity through knowledge and awareness of Europe's common cultural heritage and aims to create a common cultural space, education, communication and cross-border tourism.
Within the framework of the Agreement there is an opportunity to receive expert assistance in the development, implementation, evaluation and promotion of cultural routes.
The parties to this Agreement are 34 states, the partners are the European Union and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Certificate “Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe” was awarded to 39 European cultural routes that pass through more than 50 countries.
Accession to the Agreement will allow Ukraine not only to join these routes, but also to initiate nominations and thus promote its own historical and cultural traditions.
