The Committee on Digital Transformation considered the Draft Law on ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the European Police Office on confidentiality and information protection

During the online meeting, the Committee on Digital Transformation decided to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the draft Law “On Ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the European Police Office on Confidentiality and Ensuring Information Retention” as a basis and as a whole.

The purpose of the draft Law is to conduct the internal procedures required for the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine and the European Police Office on confidentiality and ensuring the preservation of information, signed on July 3, 2017.

The draft law proposes to ratify the Memorandum with a statement explaining that in Ukraine not only the National Police, as the authorized body for interaction with the Central Bureau of Interpol will interact and protect information transmitted between entities, but also other institutions and bodies which, in accordance with the agreed decisions, will be directly connected to the Europol Central Office.
