Online meeting of the Interparliamentary Relations Group with the Republic of Finland in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with Friendship group with Ukraine in Eduskuntа took place.

 
The political situation in Finland and Ukraine was discussed during the meeting. The parliamentarians of both countries paid special attention to the security situation in Ukraine, in particular in eastern Ukraine and Crimea, issues of deoccupation and restoration of peace.


“We, the members of the Parliament of Ukraine, strive for the restoration of peace in Ukraine as soon as possible, and we strongly support the deoccupation of all Russian-occupied territories. Ukraine would be grateful if Finland joined the International Crimean Platform. And we could join forces with international partners to deoccupy Crimea and return it to Ukraine,” stressed co-chair of the Interparliamentary Relations Group with the Republic of Finland Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.

He also noted Finland's significant contribution to the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine, headed by Mr Hartikainen.


Ukrainian parliamentarians expressed gratitude to Finland for supporting demining activities in Ukraine.


Also, during the online meeting, the deputies discussed topical issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Finland and plans for further cooperation.
