The Deputy Chairperson of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on the Government of Ukraine and the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to pay attention and use the experience of European countries in combating the COVID-19 coronavirus.

During an hour of questions to the Government, she noted that Slovakia had recently conducted a nationwide free population COVID-19 testing.  The Vice Speaker asked whether the Government of Ukraine took this experience into account. She also asked whether the possibility of organizing such testing in cities with a population of millions and on the borders of Ukraine is being considered and whether fast PCR tests are available in Ukraine.

In response, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health informed that the experience of Slovakia was being studied and taken into account. In particular, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that 2 million such rapid tests would be delivered to Ukraine soon. In turn, Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov added that their manufacturers were certified in Ukraine. According to him, the use of rapid PCR tests for antigen to COVID-19 will allow Ukraine to reach more than 100,000 tests per day.
