During its meeting, the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration with the European Union considered and recommended the adoption of bills ratifying two international agreements.

The Bill No. 0069 provides for the ratification of the Protocol between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the exchange and mutual protection of information with limited access in the area of defense.

The adoption of the Bill No. 0070 will allow ratifying the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on financial cooperation related to the implementation of the project ‘Housing for internally displaced persons.’ The document provides for the allocation of 25 million euros by the German government to provide loans for the purchase of housing for internally displaced persons at 3% for 20 years.

Committee members discussed the Bill No. 3607 on the Business Ombudsman Institution in Ukraine. Currently, the business ombudsman is an advisory body to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The bill provides for its reorganization into a non-profit public organization. Chairperson of the Committee Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze noted that such institutions are accountable to parliament in most countries. According to the Committee, this bill does not contradict European legislation, but needs significant revision.
