The Verkhovna Rada has passed today the following draft bills/resolutions to presently emerge as full-blown pieces of legislation:
Bill No.2284: Second reading - “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding a simpler raising of investments and introducing new financial instruments”.
The law regulates the relations arising during the issue, circulation, repurchase of securities and fulfillment of obligations under them, conclusion and execution of derivative contracts, replacement of a party to derivative contracts and execution of deeds, deals with financial instruments in the capital markets, as well as relations arising in the course of conducting professional activities in the capital markets and organized commodity markets.
This law is not to be applied to the activities of electricity market operators, transmission system operators, gas transmission system operators and relations associated with the electricity market functioning.
The act provides for a comprehensive settlement of the following issues:
- functioning of derivative markets;
- functioning of capital markets and organized commodity markets, developing their infrastructure;
- ensuring the protection of bondholders’ rights.
A sequence of related codes and acts of legislation will be amended accordingly.
Bill No.3636: Second reading - “On amendments to Section II ‘Final Provisions’ of the Law of Ukraine ‘On amendments to certain acts of legislation of Ukraine as to ensuring the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)’ (regarding its extension for higher COVID-19 morbidity risks to population)”.
This act extends until January 1, 2021 the Law of Ukraine No.539-IX “On amendments to certain acts of legislation of Ukraine as to ensuring the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)” dated March 30, 2020.
