Sitting of the Conciliation Commission of parliamentary factions (parliamentary groups)

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened today’s sitting of the commission.

The politician congratulated MPs on the returning to the routine business schedule in accordance with the prearranged work-plan calendar approved at the beginning of the session.

The presiding officer stressed that the current plenary week would see a wide range of issues to be considered.

The speaker thanked representatives of all parliamentary factions and groups, chairmen of committees, all parliamentarians and the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, and expressed his hopes for further concerted and effective work.

The Chairman gave then the floor to his first deputy Ruslan Stefanchuk, who presented the list of draft bills scheduled for consideration during this week. The politician expressed his hope that this review plan would soon be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for approval.

According to the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the work over the bill on all-Ukrainian referendum is nearly completed and there are only expected responses from some international organizations.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also informed that on Friday there took place the first meeting of the ad hoc working group in charge of drafting the bill on opposition and coalition-opposition relationship. He invited all members of parliament to cooperate on the issue.

Then, there was a proposal that the bill No.2255 providing for setting up a national intellectual property office (NIPO) enter for the plan of legislative initiatives.

Representatives of factions and groups spoke at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov added that the in-house quarantine measures would be gradually eased at the parliament, likewise throughout the country.

MPs then agreed upon hearing on May 22 the health minister over the state of play in battling the coronavirus disease.

Chairmen of VRU committees spoke at the meeting as well.

Into the bargain, the parliament made a decision to include the dual citizenship bill No.2590 “On amendments to some laws of Ukraine pertaining to citizenship matters” in this week’s agenda.


The presiding officer closed the sitting of the Conciliation Commission.
