Olena Kondratiuk contributes to spreading inclusiveness over parliament's premises

Following the initiative of the Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, premises of the main building of the Ukrainian parliament finally saw some automatic stair lifts for people with disabilities.

From now on, all MPs and visitors with specific needs as well as those using wheelchairs will be able to ascend Verkhovna Rada’s second and third floors unassisted.

The vice speaker thanked the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat and its chief Viacheslav Shtuchnyi, as well as Andrii Dikhtiaruk for the tremendous work done to ensure accessibility to Ukraine’s parliament for people with disabilities.

“We are still getting to have the entire premises adequately equipped, but we will work upon this.  I want to make our parliament to be open and accessible.  A big presentation of the general project “Open Rada” is yet ahead,” Olena Kondratiuk concluded.
