“Ukraine highly appreciates Switzerland's humanitarian assistance in the fields of water supply and health care,” -- Dmytro Razumkov

During his official visit to Switzerland, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov got acquainted with a range of humanitarian aid projects for Ukraine.

In particular, representatives of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DEZA) presented projects on Swiss humanitarian aid for eastern Ukraine in the fields of water supply and health care.

The speaker thanked Switzerland for its assistance and support. “Today, any assistance is utterly important to those people who live in the temporary occupied territories or alongside the demarcation line. Since the very outbreak of the Donbas war, there has been a problem with medical facilities, as many of them have been destroyed or damaged.  In addition, we are seeing a sharp rise in diseases, and it is very important to identify these problems at early stages so that the people could be saved,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasized.

According to him, the issue of water supply remains equally serious there.  "We appreciate the long-standing humanitarian and technical assistance of Switzerland and look forward to its continuation," Dmytro Razumkov stated.

The parties also discussed areas of priority for their bilateral cooperation in the future.
