Dear fellow Ukrainians!
Today we commemorate those who died in battles in other countries.
After the World War II - the most brutal war in human history - the Ukrainian military participated in resolving local conflicts in various flashpoint areas of the world.
Afghanistan has become the most painful page among all of them. For 10 years, tens of thousands of Ukrainians have gone through absolute hell. Thousands of dead, tens of thousands of victims and a huge tragedy for the whole world.
Today, many of combat veterans of that Afghanistan war are defending our state in eastern Ukraine, protecting its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
I thank all our warriors for their courage, unwavering spirit and willingness to stand up for freedom and justice!
