The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened Friday’s plenary session.

The presiding officer clued up that members of the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by the Prime Minister Oleksii Honcharuk, were present at the chamber.

The questions hour started.

As agreed before, the energy minister Oleksii Orzhel informed those present of Ukraine’s tariff policy on providing the population with energy and public utilities – the present state and prospects of the industry.

Then, the premier Oleksii Honcharuk dwelt on the government-powered loan programme ‘Affordable credits 5-7-9”, designed to promote local entrepreneurial business.

Afterwards, he also cast light on the farmlands circulation bill which is presently under Rada’s close consideration.

He faced then a barrage of questions from the floor over budgetary and banking affairs, prospects of the energy and coal industries, medical support for newly established territorial communities, famous dual energy utility bills, the environmental state of marine ecosystems nearby the City of Odesa, customs issues and the like.

Oleksii Honcharuk also informed that the government is finalizing its performance report, having in mind to submit it to parliament next week.

The questions hour ended at this point.

After that, MPs switched over to the business of the day.

On agricultural lands circulation

--Draft bill No.2178-10

The bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding agricultural lands circulation” is still under consideration. Lawmakers have reviewed today 216 amendments – out of 4018 submitted. The work on amendments will be resumed at the next plenary session.

 

The presiding officer closed the current plenary session.

 

February 10-14, 2020: MPs will be having their committee work.

The Parliament next meets on Tuesday, 18 February 2020.
