“We strive to develop equal in rights and good-neighbourly relations with our Western neighbours - EU and NATO members,” – Olena Kondratiuk
The vice speaker
of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk stated
this during a working breakfast with ambassadors of
the Republic of Poland, the Slovak Republic, the Hungarian Republic, the Czech
Republic, the Lithuanian Republic and the Deputy Ambassador of Romania to
Ukraine.
"We are well aware that the dialogue between Ukraine and the neighbouring Western states is of high significance to Ukraine. This dialogue should be developed on the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect and realization of our common interests,” Olena Kondratiuk emphasized.
"In an effort to maintain friendly relations with all our neighbours, we shall at all times be capable of repelling an aggression and encroachment on our sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine averred.
She then extended her kind request for further assistance to Ukraine on its path to EU and NATO integration, greater furtherance within international organizations and structures, in particular the UN, the OSCE, and the Council of Europe.
Olena Kondratiuk underlined that Ukraine is rather interested in setting up a robust security zone and cooperation in the Baltic-Adriatic-Black Sea (BABS) region, participating in joint economic projects, in particular within the framework of the Three Seas Initiative.
The vice speaker of parliament also called on the participants to take care of Ukrainian migrant workers, who do make a significant contribution not only to Ukraine’s economy but also to the growth of economies of their stay.
Taking the opportunity, the Ukrainian politician also invited the participants of the meeting to take part in the Ukrainian Women's Congress to be held on December 10-11, 2019 in Kyiv.
