There took place a kick-off meeting of the Verkhovna Rada permanent delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly-Eastern Neighbourhood (the Euronest PA)
The Chairperson of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into EU Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, chairing
the event, held a founding sitting of the Verkhovna
Rada permanent delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly-Eastern Neighbourhood.
Ivan Krulko, MP, was elected to take the lead of the deputation, while as his deputies there were assigned to be members of parliament Pavlo Melnyk and Sofiia Fedyna. There were also finalized memberships of the standing committees and working groups of the Euronest PA.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze underscored that there is an ongoing discussion upon the future of the Eastern Partnership, and Ukraine is thought to seek a differentiated approach to those states having association agreements with the European Union.
She wished the delegation a well-coordinated and effective work for the sake of Ukraine and proposed to reconcile positions between members of parliament involved in the processes of Ukraine's rapprochement with the European Union.
The former head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Borys Tarasiuk took part in the meeting as well. He informed those in attendance about the structure and goals of this parliamentary assembly and about the work of the Ukrainian delegation in recent years.
