Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into EU
On October 1, the committee held a meeting with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine V. Shkurakov.
During the meeting, there was considered and approved the draft law No.2000 on Ukraine’s state budget for 2020 – among other things.
Members of the committee examined a number of draft laws to ensure their compliance with EU law and Ukraine's international legal obligations under the Association Agreement.
The draft bills Nos.1111, 1048, 1048-1, 2110 and 1199 were endorsed by the members of the committee and recognized to have not contravened the Association Agreement, European Union law and Ukraine's international obligations.
The purpose of the draft law No.1111 is to protect the rights and legitimate interests of lessees, lessors, to create an adequate competitive environment in the financial services markets and to increase confidence to it, to ensure favourable conditions for developing Ukraine’s economy.
The draft laws Nos.1048 and 1048-1 propose to introduce the institute of an authorized economic operator (AEO) similar to that operating within the EU.
The draft bill No.2110 is aimed at creating a single system of public electronic registers, defining a unified structure of public electronic registers and uniform requirements for them when performing licensing and other administrative activities, including providing administrative services.
The purpose of the draft law No.1199 is to harmonize Ukraine’s legislation in the field of protection of the rights to inventions, utility models, industrial designs, and trademarks with European Union law, as well as to implement the provisions of the Association Agreement.
The committee also confirmed its conclusions upon draft laws, which are governed by national legislation of European Union member states and do not fall within the scope of Ukraine's international legal obligations in the sphere of European integration.
During the meeting, members of the committee also confirmed memberships of parliamentary delegations, whose activities are backed by the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into EU.
