There was held a kick-off meeting of the Permanent Delegation (Mission) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
The permanent delegation comprises 24 members of parliament, representing all factions and groups of the ninth convocation Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. 12 of them are sound members of the delegation, while another dozen are their deputies.
The MPs have elected Yelyzaveta Yasko (the Servant of the People party) as head of the Permanent delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. As first deputy head of the delegation there was elected a member of the All-Ukrainian Association "Batkivshchyna" faction Serhii Soboliev, and as deputy head - Rustem Umerov (The Holos party faction).
Serhii Soboliev outlined the pressing tasks the delegation faces at present, in particular, the need to finally decide whether the delegation is willing to take part in the PACE Autumn Session, which is to be held in Strasbourg during September 30-October 4, 2019.
The foreign affairs deputy minister Serhii Kyslytsia participated in the meeting of the Permanent delegation as well.
