Committee on Rules of Procedure, Parliamentary Ethics and Administration of Verkhovna Rada’s Work
At its sitting, the committee considered the draft resolution No.1012-P of September 11, 2019 (initiated by 13 members of parliament) aiming at repealing the draft bill No.1012 on presidential impeachment adopted by the parliament on September the 10th, 2019 in tote. Following the consideration, there was made a relevant committee decision and was adopted a draft resolution, which is to be put to the vote soon.
Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights
The committee recommended that the parliament adopt as a basis a draft bill No.1231 on the verification and monitoring of state social benefits. The alternate bill No.1231-1 was rejected at the committee sitting on 13 September.
The bill was drafted to increase the level of targeting of governmental benefits, promote developing the social security system, and ensure an effective application of budgetary resources, including the verification tool. Verification of payments is defined as a set of measures for collecting and verifying reliability of information used for awarding, calculating or making social payments.
As a result of the discussion, the committeemen endorsed and recommended that the parliament adopt the draft bill.No. 1231 as a basis.
Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence
On September 16, the committee held a roundtable themed "Legislative support to reforming and developing the defence-industrial complex and the defence procurements system".
The event was attended by MPs-committee members, representatives of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, concerned ministries, the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”, think tanks, NGOs and independent experts.
Participants of the roundtable focused on the issues of reforming and developing the country's defence-industrial complex, emphasized the need to change the public administration system in the sphere of defence-industrial complex and the system of defence procurements aiming to ensure a dramatic re-armament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and to promote the country's economic potential.
The round table also discussed primary legislative changes necessary for reforming and developing the country's defence-industrial complex.
