At the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, there was held a regular meeting of the Preparatory parliamentary group (PPG)

At the very off, the group leader Dmytro Razumkov proposed to hear preliminary performance reports of the two sub-groups.

Participants of the meeting then heard Petro Bodnar, the First Deputy Secretary General of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate-Chief Manager, on production availability of the system “Rada3”.

Later on, there was approved the allocation of parliament’s halls/rooms for factions’ needs.

Parliamentarians then passed the procedure to be applied for oath signing by MPs during the solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine scheduled on August 29.

Rooming of the committees was still in progress.

There was made a decision to invite all former chairmen of the parliament, currently residing on the territory of Ukraine, to participate in the above solemn sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the ninth convocation.

A representative of the first sub-group delivered his report on distribution of deputies and managerial positions in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation.

The preparatory group then lifted the upper ceiling for a committee complement up to 34 persons. It was also agreed that the committees should be fully staffed by 2:00 pm of August 28.

Upon an ample debate, there was confirmed the distribution scheme for managerial positions in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of the ninth convocation, elaborated by the first sub-group.

The presiding officer read out a PPG sub-group’s proposal to establish a temporary special commission on veterans’ affairs at the new parliament. This proposal must be subsequently voted on by the new Verkhovna Rada.

At this point Dmytro Razumkov closed the meeting.

The next PPG sitting shall take place on August 28.

 

*** As per the law, political parties to have overcome the five percent barrier are only allowed to delegate their representatives to the said preparatory group, namely:

·    The People’s Servant Party – 17;

·    The Opposition Platform – For Life – 3;

·    The All-Ukrainian Association “Batkivshchyna (Motherland) – 2;

·    The European Solidarity Party – 2;

·    The Holos Party – 1.

The Preparatory parliamentary group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation was headed by Dmytro Razumkov (The People’s Servant Party), his first deputy – Ruslan Stefanchuk (The People’s Servant Party), and the group secretary – Yaroslav Zhelezniak (The Holos Party).

There were also created two auxiliary sub-groups.

The first sub-group will focus on specialized committees of the parliament of new convocation.  It is about the number of the committees, their designations, terms of reference and personnel matters.

The second sub-group will take care of the organization of the solemn plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
